9/1987 – 5/1999 Cultural center of the French community of Belgium: Le Botanique: sound engineer: front house and monitor mixer for live concerts, corporate events, dance and theatre. Worked with major rock, jazz and blues acts including Jeff Buckley, Chris Whitley, Oasis, Keb’Mo, Zap Mama , Cesaria Evora , Phish, Oasis, Archie Shepp, Cruel sea, Just talking no head (ex-Talking head), Turk Mauro, Willy Deville, Suzanne Vega, HooverPhonic, G love and the special sauce, Jacques Pelzer, Phish and many more.
1987 - 1997 Lighting design and Sound engineer for theatre, dance, corporate events and concerts as contractor. Belgium.

Fabsound Studios EST. 2002 is a licensed independent rehearsal and recording studio, specializing in music recording as well as post production audio.

Our primary goal at Fabsound Studio is to offer high quality recording at an affordable price.

Fabsound seeks to provide audio solutions for all our Clients. Whatever the project, whether it’s a Demo Reel, a Full album, production audio/video, a commercial, radio, Fabsound can do it for you at a very reasonable price and with impeccable service.

Fabsound Studio is a subdivision of Fabsound Records LLC.
It is located just outside Chicago’s down town area (see map below) in the heart of the Ukrainian Village just off the 90/94 expressway which makes it ideal for bands and other clients to get to and street parking is free.

Fabsound Studio was created in 2002 by Fabsound owner and founder Fabien Van der Stappen after he moved from Brussels Belgium to Chicago.

Fabsound Studios was originally founded to offer local and international musicians a place to rehearse with quality equipment at a very affordable price.

Then the studio was equipped with industrial standard digital and analog equipment. There are 3 isolated rooms providing an ideal atmosphere for musical recording, and also offers a vocal booth equipped for post production sound.

We have had some great local and international artists come practice and record at Fabsound, including Schizowave, Steve Arvey, Lurrie Bell, Liquid Soul, Fall Out Boy, Bitter Tears, Chicago Samba, Scale, Jonny Rumble, Vamplifier, California’s Kneebody, Switzerland’s Chris Harper with Viviane Vance Kelly, Frank Palermo, Dan Effland, Rock and Roll Dad, George Stancell, David Vandervelde and more(see Fabsound Clients).
