Before leaving for tour, our van was broken into and was left inoperable. We turned to Fabien to rent a van and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The van he rented to us drives like a dream and is extremely comfortable for a 4-piece band with plenty of equipment. The rate he offers is very reasonable.
Fabien also provided great service while we were on the road, promptly answering any questions we had regarding the van. Fab' est Fantastique!!! I'm a french tour manager of the "African Pop" band Dobet Gnahore and we had the chance to come and tour in the USA in november 2011 (from North Carolina to Illinois passing by Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota...). Everybody who belongs to the industry knows how big is the hassle to find a proper road transportation service solution for touring in the US... Luckily enough we found Fabien!
Not only his rates are interesting, but Fabien himself delivered the van we hired to Charlotte (from Chicago!) where our tour started. While on the road, he constantly liaised to insure everything went fine with the vehicle, which is much appreciable. The van (Ford) is spacious, well equipped (DVD and iPod player) and most of all, quite secure and safe to drive. In a nutshell, Fabien provided with an excellent service, bringing a warm human and friendly touch to the business. I evidently highly recommend him to anyone looking for a vehicle to go around the USA.

I couldn't have asked for more :) We were looking for a van to hitch a camper up to - and those are NOT easy to come by. I found Fabien through a search engine, called him up and TALKED TO HIM RIGHT AWAY, no messages left, no phone tag :) He said that although he usually rents out to bands, he would make an exception for us. We booked the van (Ford 350) for 10 days - rates are more than reasonable, vehicle is in perfect condition, contract is clear and easy to understand. Communication with Fabien is, for lack of a better word, AWESOME. E-mails and phone calls back and forth, quick and efficient. Picked up the van, packed up, left for FL (sun and warmth :) - Fabien called in to check if everything was OK - that was really unexpected. I am soooooo happy that I came across Fabsound - and I will definitely keep Fabien's number for any future travels, for myself or anyone else that may need such great service and a well-maintained vehicle to get around in. Fabien provides a great service at a great price. His van is a late model Ford in very good condition, clean inside and out, with comfortable captain's chairs, a DVD-equipped flatscreen TV for the passengers, and plenty of room for gear in the back (we used this van for an 8-day tour with a 6-piece band). Instead of trekking out to a rental place at O'Hare, you can pick up this van in the heart of Wicker Park, and as long as you provide everyone's drivers licenses in advance, you don't have to pay for additional drivers like standard car rental outfits. The standard day rate (which includes insurance) is very reasonable, and he'll cut you a deal if you rent for 5 days or more. Fabien provides a comprehensive contract in advance, with everything well explained, so there are no surprises. We highly recommend him for any bands needing to rent a tour van.

We found him on Craigslist and he was quick to respond to all our questions. He even submitted photos of the van as well and let us see the van beforehand to get an idea if it would be a good fit for us. It was more than we expected. The van itself was very comfortable and has a lot of room in the back for gear. We were even able to hitch our trailer to the van which is a convenience you don't find very easily. We even rented a couple of DVDs for the 7 hour drive and watched them in the van! FIRSTJASON and Ari Lehman Recommend FabSound Rentals! My name is Ari Lehman, and I played the First Jason Voorhees in "Friday the 13th". Recently, my Monster Metal Band, FIRSTJASON, and I rented a beautiful full-size van from Fabien Vander at FabSound, to travel to Milwaukee to perform at ZOMBIE CON X. The band and I were all absolutely satisfied with every detail. The van was clean, spacious (6 captain's chairs), and in good working order. There was more than enough room for a large double-bass drumkit, all our amps and instruments, and the PA system. Since he is a musician, Fabien is great to work with, with friendly and prompt service. I strongly recommend this van rental to any Chicago area bands. You can't beat the price, and the full-size capacity makes load-outs a breeze!

We have taken this van on several tour stops, including Rockford and St. Louis. It runs great and we have never had any mechanical problems with it. It is huge and had enough room to fit a 5-piece drum kit, large bass amp, two guitar amps, three guitars, digital piano, and more. It's also really comfortable and even has a DVD player so people in the back can watch movies on long trips. Overall: runs great, lots of room, and super comfortable.
